Gardening is truly for all seasons. There is never a season (and it gets down to zero here) that I can’t pick something to eat from my garden.

Hmm…start planting for the garden in autumn. I’ll admit I’ve never done that before…and that probably explains why I’m not the greatest gardener around

I enjoyed your article and am somewhat envious. I live in Iowa and our weather simply does not permit such plants to grow! The snow comes quickly and the vegetables would all be dead. Its fun to read about what you are able to do!

Autumn/fall color should not be overlooked as many plants are available that offer color at this time of the

year.

Trees look great as their leaves change color, even when bare they can look wonderful with a dusting of frost

or snow, and, if you are lucky icicles look spectacular.I try to choose small trees and shrubs that develop

berries. Not only do they look great but they provide a valuable food source for our wildlife.
